Creating a positive day

Do you ever get up in the morning and think, “oh dear, I have so many things to do today, how am I going to get it all done? This is going to take forever and I’m going to be so busy all day!” and so on and so on!
You are basically setting yourself up for a day of hardships and creating a busy day just in your mind. You are choosing to focus on being busy with no real direction for your day.

Say you wake up and think, “I have a lot to do today, but I’ll focus on getting this project done first, then the rest of the day I’ll get one thing done at a time and then I can finish early and go to my yoga class.”
This type of thinking, provides a solution, has a plan and there is a positive goal (yoga class) within it. This is the beginning of creating a positive day!

Daily meditation truly does help with becoming aware of your thoughts. With practice, you are able to sit back and observe your thoughts and then you can choose which thoughts to focus on.

The thoughts you choose to think, create your reality.

I personally wake up every morning at 4am to have a minimum 20 minute meditation for this purpose alone. Being aware of what my thoughts are creating has made a positive impact on my day to day life.
If I find that if my thoughts are becoming negative or destructive, then I’ll examine them and refocus onto something positive. Choosing inspiring and happy thoughts, really does put you in a good mood and a good space to create a positive day. But you do need to be aware of your thinking every day! Meditation is a daily habit and practice that will change your world in numerous way if you make it a priority. But, for any change that needs to occur, it must include action. You must do your daily meditation and you must focus on creating a positive thought process for the day, and you must take action on those thoughts- not just think about them!

Once you have all these little aspects working (meditation, thoughts and action), you will always creative positive days, even when there are negative situations, you’ll quickly discover a positive solution or fresh way of thinking. Keep practicing and it will become easier and easier.

While I don’t get up at 4am to do meditation etc, I do like to have my ‘quiet’ time to process what’s happening, do healing and asking for direction etc. This could be more than once a day if there’s a lot happening. Once I get overwhelmed by what’s going on, I become stressed and scattered and that doesn’t achieve anything. So I need to be calm and centred to be able to do what needs to be done.
